November 6, 2006 - Dallas, Texas

I was on assignment to shoot a visit by President Bush to a Republican Party rally at Reunion Arena in downtown Dallas. This was the night before the national elections on Tuesday, November 7. It was a surreal event as thousands of protesters against the war in Iraq found themselves pitted against the very well-to-do Repbulican faithful who were attending the rally.

Amidst all of the shouting, the anger, and the violence of that night- I found this young girl standing silently, holding her sign with complete dignity and serenity.

I shot hundreds of photos that night, but I have never forgotten that little girl and her simple sign.....
